The Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU) operates as an applied research and enterprise unit within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. We have over 25 years of experience in providing clinical research solutions and services across the globe, advancing data excellence, quality, management, and improving research conduct. CIRU works across the 7 continents including Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, Australasia, Asia, and Africa.
Aims
Undertake applied research in software development, data modelling and definitions, and develop terminology and standards
Provide software and services to those engaged in clinical research to both improve quality and effectiveness, and drive new research questions within research data management
Deliver healthcare innovation through informatics solutions.

ISO 27001 & 9001 Certification
The Clinical Informatics Research Unit is certified to two internationally recognised standards: ISO 27001, the Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard, and ISO 9001, the Quality Management System (QMS) standard.
